Strange smell on new Test Pipe-Catback
Okay, so I installed an RRM Test-Pipe and SR*S Ebay Catback system today, and so far I am completely satisfied. The only problem though, is that once parked in my garage I smell a strong scent some-what like rubber. The smell seems to be coming from the muffler and when parked the engine bay.
Immediately after noticing this, I re-jacked up the car checked to make sure that nothing was rubbing, all the bolts were secure, gaskets in place correctly, and that nothing was left sitting some where to become melted once driven. There is absolutely no rubber coming in contact with the exhaust setup or anything producing heat. My question is, should I be worried or is this normal with a new exhaust system/test-pipe on a NA Engine. As far as when being driven, even with my heater vents on full blast I cannot smell it, only when parked in a closed area. I have also not noticed any performance flaws, and my check engine light has remained off.
