2006 Lancer Stalls on start

My 2006 Lancer VRX will sometimes stall when I go to start it.

It will crank and then catch, the revs will get up to idle for about a second and then it will stall. When I go to restart it will keep doing it for a minute or 2 and then will start and run fine.

A couple of times it will crank but wont start at all but when I come back a while later it will start fine.

I took it to the dealership where I bought it and they said they couldnt diagnose the problem because they couldnt get it to play up for them but said it was probably an electrical sensor problem or something.

Any ideas what could be causing the problem?

Lancer VRX? Might I ask where you are from? Any CEL? Could just be a dirty sensor somewhere like MAF or in the throttle body or???

let the fuel pump fully prime before you attempt to start your car.
