Need Help! Please! Airbox disassembly/ maf adapter installation

I am trying to install a custom SRI on my auto 05 lancer es and Im having problems disassembling the airbox completly to detach the MAF sensor, and the flange/flap does not allow me to attach the maf adapter that my intake came with. If anybody has had a problem with this and knows what to do I would reallyy appreaciate any advice and help. Also does anyone know what adapter would fit on a 05 lancer?

Thanks!

This is what i bought for my 06 Lancer SE. Works great! $12! Your going to like the sound after, made a big differance on mine.

Are you thinking about doing a CAI instead of the SRI? I did a quick SRI on mine but want to go for the CAI. I want to move the battery first to free up some room.

Thanks! Im gona order one today.. I ordered an intake of ebay n it came with one of those cheap metal adapters that didnt even fit. Did you have any problems getting the MAF sensor disconnected from the airbox because I got it took apart where I could see the honeycomb where the adapter connects but couldnt figure out how to get it completly off the box.. As for a CAI I was thinking about infront of the battery too but there is no way enough room in autos, I found a place directly beneath the airbox and a little inwards that would work with custon piping which is what I might do because I started cutting the one I got off ebay so it will fit.
