Drives: White lancer GTS

2009 gts auto tranny

I started the engine and then when I put the gear to PARK. then push the brakes. again and again theres something I hear like tik tik tik on the transmission when I just hit the brakes it sounded like that but I dont know what it is. anybody experienced that? please help i'm really worried on my car.

Drives: 2008 Lancer GTS CVT

its just the lock, it locks so you can't put it in drive without pushing down on the break.

if it is a rythmic ticking sound I wouldnt worry. but something that is sounding out of wack or not in a rythmic manner then I would be worrying.

The operation of the CVT transmission is pretty complex but generally if its going to fail it would have done so already. The relability rating of the CVT is one of the highest, even over Autos and Manuals.

If it still concerns you,,,, you can try to make a video of the sound and post it here or on youtube. that way other people can confirm if they have the same thing going on for their car.

Yup. My car didn't do it for about the first year. Then it started making the sound a few months ago. Mine sounds like a mechanical lock clicking under the shift lever. Nothing to worry about.

thats totally right! i had my car 5 months now. and it just happened few days ago. well thank you so much guys for your help
