Lancer doesn't start sometimes

Sometimes when I shut my lancer off for about 20 minutes and go to start it back up, it doesn't start. I turn the key, all the lights turn on and all I hear under the hood is one click. I can try it like 15 times and it won't work and then try it again and the car starts up fine without hesitation. Also, when the car will not start, when I use the remote start for my car, it starts right up. Any ideas? thanks

Check the terminal connections on your starter real good. Might have some corrosion on them.

+1^ also check your battery connections and your main grounds that go to your motor and body, I would put money on connection issue

Does anyone have a diagram of the starter so I know where to check for corrosion? It's kinda hard to stick my hand back there and find every spot it could be.

Better if you just remove your starter. It will make it easier to clean the terminals. Use some anti-corrosion spray on the connections after also.

You just gotta look at where the power/ground cables are located.
Also make sure the nuts holding down the cables are on tight.

And not rusted too, I worked on a car about 2 months ago they let it sit for over a year not knowing why it wouldnt turn over. Well after testing the starter and cleaning it all up it turned out one rusty nut that held the ground wire on the starter caused the whole thing!!! They didnt even have to buy a new nut I just wire wheeled it lol

Alright what would be the easiest way to pull it out? I am going to try and tackle my problem this weekend. Is there any way to test it when it is pulled out?
