Drives: 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

High idle of between 1300 - 2500 RPM

Someone please help

I had AEM cold air. Flooded my engine with water like 2 years ago so ever since the engine got changed i just kept the top part of the intake... So saying that the air filter is very close to the engine and it gets hot. The weather in Chicago just picked up and it's extremely hot.. I would like to know what would cause the car to idle so high.. would it be the cause of high air temp or what else could it be.. If i let the car sit for a while it works ok but soon as it gets hot and it's supper sunny outside it idles high like that!!!

Any help would be appreciated! THANK YOU

EDIT..

forgot to mention that at some point i did have piggy back ecu from road race.. could it be that some wires ain't making the connection?

Do you have a check engine light? Try resetting your ECU. Pretty sure that will fix your issues.
