Ratteling Question

Whats up guys and gals. I have a quick question does anybody ever hear any thing ratteling when they hit a small bump. I heard this yesturday when I was leaving school and thought when I get home Im gonna pull the wheel off and see whats up. So I got home took the wheel off and statred checking things and found that nothing was loose, so I thought I must of been hearing thins but I heard it again today.

So if anybody vould help it would be much appreciated. I would take it to the stealership but I dont have the time(work full time and school full time.

I had an issue when I first got my car. There is a heat shield that runs from the rear of the engine bay by the exhaust header down above the exhaust piping almost to the muffler. Suspected that was the culprit but took it to the dealer anyway just to be sure. They must have fixed it b/c the car does not rattle anymore. If you can get under the car check the shield everywere you can get to it from, but I would strongly recommend you try to get to the dealer if you can. Especailly if the outside temp is as hot in Baton Rouge as it was in Mobile the last couple of days. Triple digits with the heat index.

UPDATE: While changing my oil today I figured I would check around a bit to see if I could find the culprate of the ratteling noise that I hear everynow and then. I did what was suggested and checked the heat shield and nothing. I didnt find anything that was loose.

So I ask should I take it to the dealership or am I overreacting.

Aslo any suggestions to the possible problem are welcome

I could not find that the heat shield was loose either, but then I started doing the (as my wife says) "Engineer thing" were i start the what if's. She got so aggrivated with my need to know what it was, that she took the car to the dealer and told them to fix it while I was at work. They did fix it, but she never asked them what it was (probably to irritate me) and when I called they never called me back. I was hoping that was the culprit but I am afraid I have no other idea what it could be. I would try to get it to the dealer if you can.

On another note, most of my autocross pals were in Zachary (think it was about 10 minutes from you) this weekend for the CENLA autocross event. I was unable to attend but if you ever get a saturday or sunday off of work and school, you should go to an event. They are alot of fun and you will really get to learn what the car can do. I hope you find the problem.

Ok people I finally got a chance to get to the dealership and find out what the noise really is. Come to find out it is a normal noise. It is comming from the flex plate (that little flimsy plate that sits behind the roator that helps with break dust). Its only held on with two bolts and some times it will rattle around. I trust my technician he has never did me wrong in the past.

So there ya go anyone hearing the same thing as me that is probably the culprate.
