Injen Cai Install + Maf O-ring (pics Included)

So sometime last year I took my Injen CAI off due to it throwing a cel about 2 months after it was installed. I assumed that I had I simply done something wrong or something came loose. This weekend I decided to put it back on since I needed to get a new air filter anyway why spend $50.00 when I have $300.00 one in the closet? So I installed it making sure everything was tight when I went to put in the MAF I noticed that the o-ring was stretched out. I know I was very careful taking it out of the factory box and putting it in Injen during the original install and when I switched it back so I am not sure what happened this time. Anyway I could not get it to go into the intake because it was so stretched. I had given up and was about to start putting the factory box back on but before I did I tried to get the MAF into the factory box as well and it would not go in that one either. I ran to a local O'Riley's and they gave me the only o-ring they had that would fit (Literally gave me three of them for free). The one they had was quiet a bit thicker then the factory one and it also would not fit in the intake or the factory air box. I did bolt the MAF up to the intake to see what it would do. I started the car and let it sit for 15 minutes and then drove the car down the highway. The car ran fine but the o-ring is squashed between the MAF and the Intake. I have included pictures. I would like to know if you guys think this will work, at least until I can get a factory o-ring ( I called Mitsubishi and as normal they were no help and actually told me to go to a local store because they do not stock o-rings.) Well your thought guys?

shop around, you should be able to find the correct size o-ring, and try a diff mitsu dealership...they don't stock o-rings, how stupid.

I wouldn't be concerned about the oring, the point of the oring is to prevent leakage. Having a thcker one will do the job. The only thing i would worry about i the MAF sitting square square since its only held in place by 2 screws
