Tach redlines at 4000?

I just did a cluster swap, an ES cluster to the OZ/Ralli cluster. Everything is working alright except the tach redlines at 4000K now... anyone have an idea of whats going on?

By redline I mean the rev limiter kicks in at 4000 now instead of 6250.

Sounds like how a Honda would go into limp mode... Other than that, I'd have no clue. Sorry, and good luck!

definately not limp mode.... the tach is off.... car still runs right, still revs up to the 6250 redline, but it just reads on the tach as 4000

Ah, gotcha! Good luck with solving this... I've never heard of anyone having cluster problems after their swap.

actually me too... I put the orignal cluster back in, and it worked with no problem... one thing I've noticed is the sweep of the [tach] needle on the OZ cluster is the exact sweep of the ES cluster...

Not completely related, but when I installed a CAI on the Charger, it would only rev up to 4000 RPM in park at first. When I took it on the road though, it revved up nicely. I never looked into it further since I don't really plan to sit there and rev it up in park, plus I had never really revved it up in park and paid attention to the cut-out before, so I don't know if it's just set to that in park or not. I've definitely never heard of any changes like that with a cluster swap. Have you asked the dealer if they have any ideas?

mopars rev up to 4K in park or neutral... then to past 6500 in any drive gear.
I'm not going to ask my dealer, I'll probably get something said as, nothing can be done, warranty voided or something like that.

Well, thanks for clearing that up for me at least...I hadn't looked at the tach in park or neutral before, so I wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence...good luck solving your issue...
