I don't know if I'm too late but I found this on the Mitsu. Tech. site:-
Click or Pop Noise When Braking - 2002 -03 Lancer. If you receive a customer complaint of a single click or pop noise heard when braking or changing directions during parking maneuvers, it may be due to the front brake pads sticking in the calipers. A new countermeasure brake pad shim set which reduces sliding friction is available for this concern. The countermeasure shim set consists of two shims per side, one standard thickness inner shim in the same location as the original shim and one thinner outer shim. If you encounter this noise, contact Tech Line to request a countermeasure shim set and installation instructions

ok, still no news. I did get my clutch fixed though. Was a hole in a seal and it was covered by the warranty.. woot!!
They couldn't hear the clicking.. so I'm gonna take it back next week after I drive it around a little and it's warm (since that's when it happens)

I have about 6800 miles on my '03 Lancer and have that popping sound too. I get it when driving at speed mainly and can hear it with the AC or radio going too. I hope it isn't the CV boot, the car is too damn new for that. As a side note, does anyone have problems with their sunroof sticking for no reason. Sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn't - usually when I have it at mitsubishi being looked at.
