Auto tranny upgrade for 4g94
hey, question: apparently according to rrm the limits of the 4g94 are 250whp, due to the tranny. Ive looked into performance auto transmissions, and all ive found are IPT. Does anyone have any experience with them or anyone else that lets you push the limits of the 94 ?
Also, what about increasing the rev limit, what can i do for that?

look up the posts on how modding works on the lancer. ITs not a very mod friendly car as i have learned after putting 2k into it and very little hp increase. You need big money to get any real hp gains.

I'm sure there's turbo lancers on stock trannys pushing out more HP than that without problems. You would need to upgrade clutch, and an LSD would help, but the transmission i'm not aware of any upgrades for, nor have I heard of anyone having problems with them

As for the urinal rules, most guys put way too much thought into it.

By clutch do you mean torque converter? Would an LSD made for a manual tranny work with an auto?

Yeah, sorry I didn't read about the auto tranny bit. I would wonder if the torque converter could hold that much power, but i'm sure someone must have put together an auto turbo lancer. As for the LSD, I don't know if it would work in an auto...

Get a torque converter from Level 10
and 250hp is probably about right for maxing out the auto tranny before you start getting issues. However a torque converter will fix that.
And there are no LSD's for the Auto Transmission that i can remember

So if an auto was pushed past the 250 whp mark all one would need is the Level 10 torque converter? Is there anything else that can be done while the tranny would be out that would have any benefit for our cars?
