2002 Lancer OZ clutch problems

When I start my car, I push the clutch pedal in and the car starts fine. But when I try to put it in gear the shifter doesn't move and there is a faint noise like the gears are moving but unable to engage. I can't tell if its anything from a minor problem like leaking fluid or something to do with the slave cylinder, or something up to where I would need a whole new clutch. Somebody please help me.

Is it like trying to shift without clutching? That kind of noise? Could be that your clutch isn't engaging...dunno, shot in the dark

As for the urinal rules, most guys put way too much thought into it.

How's the clutch pedal feeling? Is it hard to push? Does it feel like there is nothing there?
If you feel something wrong in the clutch pedal it could be fluid related; running low, major air bubbles, slave failing and so forth.

Your clutch feeds off the brake cylinder fluid so make sure you brake fluid is full. If it's not, fill it up with a fresh bottle. Not a bottle that's been sitting open on the shelf for weeks, months or even years. Fill it up with a freshly opened bottle.

Are there any "new" sounds coming from the engine bay? Rumbles, grindings, clicking, or whatever..

It turned out to be the slave. I knew somethin was leaking cause it was sucking air somewhere but I couldn't find out where. Then I realized the slave on my car is internal. haha Thats why I couldn't find the leak. Anyway, I'm gettin it fixed by a friend who is a mechanic. Should be good to go in a couple days.
