Park lock on CVT

hey people's its been a while but i got a new issue that i am baffled on. here's the story..... so the other day my fiance was playin around in the car and accidentally threw the car from Reverse, into Park. Instead of the car stoping suddenly, it made the nastiest "grinding" type of sound ive heard come out of a car. So now when i am in park and i apply the brakes to put the car into Drive, I hear a "cick" like its the Park lock releasing. My question is does anyone know how to access the Park lock to tighten or replace it???????????

As always, any help is GREATLY appreciated

it is a parking pawl inside of the transmission. I have seen them in conventional auto's. It is the tiniest metal pawl, and after you see that, you never trust park to hold your car on a hill anymore. So yeah its most likely inside the trans, just use your e-brake to hold your car if I were you. Good luck on that one.

Yup I just looked it up in the manual. Its in the transmission. It is located next to the secondary pulley and it called the parking gear. Hopefully you didn't grenade it!

I don't think warranties cover smashing the **** out of your transmission 'by accident'. I think it is more something to cover premature wear and tear, or defects.

...

So just make sure you don't tell the dealer you did that.
