Help! After trans swap problems
So here's a list of problems I've encountered since I finished my trans swap last Saturday.
-Keys stuck in the ignition
-Cigarette lighter doesn't work
-After I rev the rpms, when they come back down to 1000, my headlights and my instrument gauge lights dim out for just a second
-Service Engine Soon light is on (I had it diagnosed and nothing came up but light is still on, nothing noticeable stands out as to why it is still on)
-When my car is idling, the rpms rest at 1000 for a few seconds then they move around a bit (give or take 200 either way).
-When driving, my car is abnormally jerky (we have narrowed this down to clearly being because of the motor mounts, any suggestions as to a good set of urethane ones???)
Other than these things, everything else with the swap has gone perfectly. If you have any suggestions how to fix any of these problems please let me know! Thanks

Check your fuses.

Check your grounding points

May be related to a grounding issue.

RRM makes solid mounts. Otherwise, there are no other options for us except for DIY urethanes.

That's all I can think of, just double check wires, splices, etc, and check fuses.

Service engine soon light has gone off by itself. Cigarette lighter is working now. My car seems to have resolved its problem with the rpms while idling. The only thing I still have to fix is the keys being stuck in the ignition.

-Keys stuck in the ignition. I had this problem on my 3g Mirage/Lancer. Dealer fixed that. Wasn't due to a swap. Check starter hookups
-After I rev the rpms, when they come back down to 1000, my headlights and my instrument gauge lights dim out for just a second. Your ecu probably has to relearn its idle. There might be an idle control you have to put on yours now that you've done the swap.
-When my car is idling, the rpms rest at 1000 for a few seconds then they move around a bit (give or take 200 either way). Mines like that. Mine usually idles at 1000 to 1200 at start then back down to 800. Depends on which cluster I use. The evo cluster says it idles at 2000 at start then to 1500
-When driving, my car is abnormally jerky (we have narrowed this down to clearly being because of the motor mounts, any suggestions as to a good set of urethane ones???) Depends on how bad the mounts condition are. I could be due to axles. The manual trans takes different axles I think. Alingment or something when you took out the axles might not be tight.

I fully agree with bcollinstex in that many of your issues may be resolved by checking, cleaning and re-securing all the grounding points in the engine bay. Especially the larger gauge ground wire that sits on the bolt securing the bellhousing to block.

Alright I got most of those problems resolved. I have noticed a fairly loud woooing sound coming from under the hood. I think it might be the axles (I used the ones from my automatic trans because the manual ones were slightly worn). Anyone have any insight on this?
