New clutch/flywheel...Resurfacing???

So im getting a new clutch and flywheel installed and I read on the instructions that you have to resurface the flywheel prior to installation??? IS this true or did I just misread the instructions? Shouldn't they have manufactured it to be perfectly flat already? Oh by the way they are Clutchmasters.
