CVT Final Drive "Gear"

I know that the "gears" in our CVTs are just preset selections. I was just wondering if anybody has been able to experiment with different ratios. If so how possible would it be to select a different final drive ratio for a better cruise? Just wondering... Thanks guys.

Drives: Skyline/Evo/Genesis...?

evo_soul is currently working with a program that can change the "steps" ratios on the CVT.

I am dreaming if i can get it approved by Mitsubishi HQ, but I am considering replacing 6 preset gears with 5, but spacing will be optimized. Frequent shifting results in drive train loss due vibration stability programming.

Looking into a max TQ and Max HP formula. But right now I got so much on my plate that I just cant allocate any more resources. I wouldnt mind someone taking up the work.

I don't have to one with the sport mode. What I was thinking about was replacing the "Low" gear preset with one that is more suited for higher cruising speeds.
i.e. better fuel consumption at highway speeds. I know that they get good highway mileage but why not get better.

this would most likely work with a CVT controller module I am sure it could be programmed with mutltiple styles of driving, Max HP, Max TQ. Agreessive, Passive (which it is right now), very specific ones for Turbo Setups as well. where only 3 gears a programmed with one variable overdrive final gear.

with a turbo its pretty cool, but the idea is to keep the CVT shifting to a minimum.

Cool. Instead of having the computer go straight into the overdrive I want. I wanted to remove the "Low gear" on the selector and replace it with the double overdrive I want. That way I still have the regular overdrive for slower cruises and the double over where the Low used to be on the gear selector.
