CVT reinforcement?

If we are doing all this work to these CVT cars and it was only meant to have 150 something HP. What will happen to the CVT because it is such new technology and hasnt had pressure testing on it.

EX: Can you swap out the EVO X cvt and convert it to the lancer
(changing it to AWD also OFC)
Since the EVO CVT trani is meant to hold turbo pressure and more HP wouldnt it make sense to convert it down the line.

Yeah $$ is a big factor but for us people that have good jobs and money to blow some answer would be nice.

Thanks

Uh, no, there's no CVT in the Evo. And now I'll put in the "typical" answer to something like this:

The cost isn't worth the return on a trans swap. If you wanted to make power, or didn't want a CVT, you shouldn't have bought a CVT.

As for reinforcement, the design of a CVT isn't really friendly towards changing parts. The primary mechanisms in it (belt, pulleys) aren't even servicable.

Anything is possible with enough money, but you would be better off trading your car in for an evo. and the evo doesnt have a cvt

i cant drill this home enough. pressure and TQ stress isnt the problem, the only thing that will harm the belt is heat. Its metal, and with this metal it is critical to keep it within temp tolerances. There is almost 3 times the amount of fluid in the CVT vs. the Manual I think its 8 qt. vs. 2.5 qt. Fluid service the purpose to keep operating temperature down. But additional cooling methods can work to keep the temp even lower.

If you can master that then you can run the CVT in D mode 24 7 fulll throttle.

well as I may have spoken about in previous posts, the plugs are good / valid, but there is a very big "BUT" that I will discuss. That put is what people will have to mull over before they buy
