Traction Control?

I've been wondering, I really haven't driven the car hard enough to notice it kick in, so I don't really know how it works in the lancer. I assume it works by basically limiting the power going to the wheels when they start to loose traction right? I haven't found much info about it, and I am too lazy to read my manual yet.

In the event of running the car at a track or what not. My last car there was a button on the dash to turn it off, and it let the car open up more. So is there a way of turning it off in the lancer?

If there isn't a way to turn it off, would it be possible in the future to tap into the computer, and make some sort of switch for it? Theres a good place to the left of the steering wheel under the vent where those 3 plastic things are glued in where it looks like there should be switches/buttons.

Although I'm not sure how much the traction control actually limits the power in this car, if at all, it may not even be necessary. But in my G6 there was definitely a difference, because as soon as the tires spun even the slightest amount, it would kill the power to them and you would be hardly moving for a couple seconds.

traction control is only available for the 2009 Lancers that get the touring package that should come out in late june, according to various sources.

LSD != "Traction Control"

LSD = stock traction * 2 ... most of the time ...

there's a difference between the two.

and like everyone else on here has already said. There is no traction control in the '08 Lancers.

That makes sense then. Like I said, I haven't really driven it to where it would kick in anyways. I think the retard that sold me the car said it had it , I'm pretty sure he ran in his office and went online to skim the features of the car before he went over the features with me.

It's a sad day when mitsubishi salespersons are more # crunchers than knowledgable about the car. He probably was confused at the Electronic Brakeforce Distribution available on the aircondition and power packages of the 2009 DE.
