Tirerack has the KYB struts for a great price - have yet to find somewhere that's cheaper. Just check their site.

is it coming from the rear? it could also be the lower pillow ball bushing. i had that go on my 03 oz rally as well. they just wear out and cause it to squeak, which is super annoying. pain in the butt mine were to get out since they were so bad but worth it since i no longer have the squeak!

im looking for complete install for all 4 struts....i was told by my local mechanic the squeaking and squealing is coming from the stock struts and they need to be replaced. But i don't want to spend more than $350.

Yeah, check the rear sway bar for breakage.

okay, so i went to my local shop today and the mechanic confirmed it is NOT the struts, and that the front outter tie rods need to be replaced and an alignment will need to be done. Estimated quote/costs is around $230. But the only problem is, that doesn't fix the squeaking and squealing coming from the rear end anytime i go over a bump or accelerate quickly to cause the rear end to move. The mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the rear end suspension and could not diagnose the problem!! HELP!!!

i would say that mechanic is not interesting in really looking for your squeak. i can't say for certain as i don't know the guy or how he works. but i have an 03 OZ Rally which i bought with 76k miles on it. around 85k the suspension started to squeak going over bumps and whatnot much like what you're saying.

at around 100k miles i finally replaced the entire set up with Tein Basic Damper coilovers. stopped the squeaking for a while. and then it came back... i put it in the air and i can see that the rear bushings are cracked and rotting. Seeing as how Mistu put out a TSB about the bushings in the rear causing a squeaking noise i would say thats exactly it but i haven't had the time or extra money to do anything about it.

you may legitimately have a bad tie-rod and need a new one. i couldn't say for sure. what i can say for sure is that its not likely to be causing the squeaking noise. the Tein coilovers cost me about $1200 and that was me and my dad splitting the cost.

bottom line--if you want the noise gone inexpensively i would say to go with JRR and replace the lower pillow ball bushing. i don't know what that might cost, but i know it would be less than replacing the struts and springs.

i'll try and see if i can find the TSB on it after work and post a link.

Thanks bro, you guys are extremely helpful and I couldn't ask for better experience. After finding out the struts are fine I really just don't trust my mechanic at all.
