Dodge Caliber rotors same as GTS?
Im in the market for a set of rotors for my GTS, since I've got about 90000km's and my brakes are showing signs of alot of wear. I was checking some sites out and notice that the Dodge Caliber rotor part numbers are the same as the GTS, and both are still yet to be released. I know both cars share the same platform, but is it possible that the Caliber, Lancer GTS, and Outlander share the same rotors?
It's hard to find and aftermarket rotors for our cars...other than dealership and RRM.
thanks!

Yes, the outlander and GTS brake rotors are the same. Think that was already discovered in a previous thread. I have been reading some suspension books and working on my own new suspension design. The thing that struck me as odd was that the suspension frequencies I calculated are lower than I thought they would be for a sport tuned suspension as mitsu would say. Based on my numbers and some dimensions and part numbers i took off of the vehicle, i started doing some research and I believe that the whole front and rear end suspension systems, basically all unsprung weight items (shocks, springs, lca's spindles breaks and sway bars, etc) are exactly the same for the outlander, caliber, and GTS. Having an SUV suspension on the GTS does provide a stiffer suspension which was noticeably different to me when I test drove the ES, and GTS, but the frequency responses are somewhere between 1.3 and 1.8 Hz. I am trying to get better unsprung weight measurements to be more accurate but think I am pretty close to the actual suspension frequencies. This is why most owners toss the stock suspension for a WORKS or RRM packages. I don't have any proof of this, it is just a theory, but the books are telling me that sport suspension frequencies are somewhere between 1.9 and 2.8 Hz.

If you watch the gts while someone else drives it, it oscillates over bumps. the entire car rocks back and forth like a nodding head while you'r driving. Don't know if it has to do with the difference in damping rates between the front and back, but its definitely not sexy.

Hmmm. could be the stiffer springs on the GTS, or the sway bar trying to keep the car down, etc, etc. i'll check it out this weekend, see what i can find out.

I am going to look into this to see if the brakes are identical....
~~~
(Toronto Lancer Club related)
I have been talking to my contacts and it looks like we are going to be sourcing some brake stuff for the club. Group buys may be a ways off, but individual buying are getting closer to be available.
Rotor upgrades and OE equiv replacements + color options
Pads
The color options have been most requested. I am going to talk to Absolute and see if he is willing to take this brake portfolio, if not i will offer it up to members.
More details to come
Update! the part numbers for the front and rear lancer gts shocks show up in the mopar oem catalog but i have not identified what car they are for. i suspect the caliber or the srt but still researching. as for the rotors i have had mixed results with aftermarket replacements. what was the oem part number for the rotor?
While this has been somewhat of a daunting taks to prove my theory, this should look farmiliar to anyone with a 2.4l lancer. I clicked on the turbocharged 2.4l from the Caliber SRT4 for info:
http://www.dodge.com/en/2009/caliber...ce/powertrain/
Still no difinitive proof but that engine looks almost exactly like the 2.4L lancer engine.
