forsure..yea man after lookin closer at the features of the tein coilovers vs these..i dont understand why people are waitin for the teins..the megans seem way better cuz more feature like the pillowball upper mount wit camber plate, and adjustable damper..while the teins u can only ajust ride height and it has no pillowball mounts, i think ima go megans

how do u like the ride?

so far so good, it is def a change. (for the better IMO) i set my damper for 17 rear and 15 front and it feels good up front. my friend said it was really bumpy in the back, but i dont ride in the back so I dont give a F' haha. as far as handling and the ride as a driver it is a world of difference. Feels great! one thing though to get the auto adjustable damper knobs into your trunk it is a pain in the a'! i still didnt finish it i was tired of drilling and adjusting haha i know i will get it the first time next time though it was just close to the 7th game of the bulls.v.celtics so had to stop workin at it and put her back together

I am glad i made the purchase vs my other options. but we'll see in 1k, 2k etc miles.

haha i missed game 7 man..****in bulls..cant believe they lost

i think earlier in this thread or some other, dude said that the back should be stiffer than the rear because the "macpherson strut suspension we use is design for the rear to be stiffer to prevent understeer" not exact but close..

is the height adjustment numberd also?

no, no numbering for the height just a cylinder. for us to do the height we just measured from the ground to the top of the center of the fender, and if we were off from left to right we adjusted. haha wasnt the best method for sure but worked perfect!

as for the damper and setting my friend works for a proshop here in town and all he does is work on sports and import cars. he read this post so we could get "suggestions" and he just laughed at that ...

"i think earlier in this thread or some other, dude said that the back should be stiffer than the rear because the "macpherson strut suspension we use is design for the rear to be stiffer to prevent understeer" not exact but close.."

so i believe him before someone on the internet IMO (which i am now I understand) but you know what i mean. either way it feels great and the handling is better than stock for sure

EDIT:: oh and i am not trying to talk S**T or anything it is just my opinion and such

We did tweak with setting and race down a road behind his house, it was a perfect test. hilly, with turns and longer than a mile it was perfect for getting the settings

oh yea i did get the lifetime alignment at firestone it was less than 2bills and i can bring it back in 500 or so miles when my shocks settle, then i can drop another half inch or so and have it aligned etc no prob!!

if i drop it more i would probably play with the damper again to be safe, its easy to adjust. (once the back adjustment extensions are in.) now its a pain, when it cools back down ill finish putting in the extensions haha

he didnt mention any rule of thumb he just set it then we drove around and he tweaked it until he thought it was good, in comparison to his BMW and CRX.

and i was already happy having it dropped and looking tits!

the camber i didn't mess with i let firestone adjust it when aligning my wheels. i told them to not mess with my damper and what I did to it, the guys at the firestone close to my house one of them has a EVO so he was more than happy to help.

if u run a slightly negative camber so ur tires look like / \ if ur lookin from the front ull get better grip thru corners, but also run the inner half of the tires contact surface down..uneven wear, but as long as its not much n u rotate tirs on a reg basis shouldnt be a big deal

Just installed my megans last night. Was real easy too. My only problem was that the stock suspension has a rasied edge for the TPMS cable support to grab onto. The megans didn't have that so I had to tie wrap and silicon it in place to keep it from moving around too much. Now I just need to get an alignment and It should be all good

sweet man!
I got an alignment, drove around for about 400 miles then went and had an alignment again just to be sure the coils had some time to settle/break in a bit. (didnt cost any extra the 1st alignment was still under a 6mo warranty) and firestone tires has a lifetime alignment. (but there technicians sucked) so I ended up going to network align. to get it done proper.

but firestone said i needed a new front strut bar, they were full of it. They just didnt play with it enough to get it right.

now im even more tempted into gettin megans instead of waiting for teins haha...

but yea the thing w/ teins is u dont have to drill holes...i guess bcuz the basic set doesnt have adjustable dampers.

i wonder if the super street tein would come with a soloution for that hah

honestly, putting the holes in wasnt too bad at all. but i will say, the megan coilovers r def worth it. goin around the same corners the car feels way more stable than it used too. now i get to have some fun finding out the new limits.

as for the align, i still havnt gotten a chance to do mine, and ya the upper strut bar is a bit tight so i think i might try to get it close at my house so that i can give it some more space for them to play with.
