Aftermarket Struts/Shocks
Any information on performance struts for a stock fitment? Koni supposedly was in the design phase but I have not heard anything since then. I want struts with the same compressed/extended length since I compete in SCCA autocross, stock class. Thanks all...

I suggest you email Koni (there should be a link to email both Koni and KYB I posted on this forum a few months ago), and see what progress they're making (if any). Heck, it can't hurt to throw some recent autocross places out and ask them if they need a truly worthwhile test car. As you know, I chose the STS route and no longer have a vested interest in HS legal suspension. Good luck, though. I still think that HS is the class the Lancer is most competitive in.

Thanks Brian. I sent Koni an email and I will call them this week to see if I can get anymore answers. The old Mirage has a Sport listing so I am going to try and get the dimensions. Evo struts will work, but I think they have a different overall length.
Results may help, but winning a class of 3-6 cars may not impress them. Even with the margins that I usually win by (2-4 seconds) may not enable them to build a prototype strut.
Ralliart (Tokico) produces the model for the US market, but I can't find any hard numbers on the dampening force compared to the stock strut. I also think that they are a little pricey for a strut that lacks adjustability.

Jason, I think if you are winning with stock shocks by 2-4 seconds is amazing. Even Will Kalman only wins his category by less than a second. Anyway, good luck!

The events that have 4-6 cars, maybe only one or two will be on R-radials. It is not as impressive a margin when you take that into account. I try to compare times to GS and I usually would win or place 2-3. I am planning on a divisional trip (Cincinnati) in October and hopefully I can see if my times stack up against a little broader competition. HS doesn't garner that many entries here since most of the younger generation shows up modified cars that go to STS, SM, or SM2.
