its not as much as there not brighter but they shoot the light straight ahead instead of a wide beam. so the plastic that disperses the light throught the buttons doesnt light up as much

Are you sure the dimmer light is a 74? I know I have an Evo but it looks to be a bit smaller..

Do you guys have 3 dome lights on your cars too? I'm wondering if the LED dome lights or the normal bulbs would be brighter?

Say, how do you get to the domelights on the car? Do you take out the entire housing, or do you just pry off the clear plastic part that covers the bulbs?

pry off the plastic piece, and also the led's are brighter, but normal bulbs are more of a light spread, so with led's it's more of a focused light..white would probably be the only color where you can actually manage seeing anything in the car if you decide to change out the dome light

unless you dont ever care if you use your dome light I wouldnt use leds, only because we only have 1 dome light... like blacklancer said, its brighter but only in like one spot, and thats where teh light is focused, even though the clear diffuser is there, it still wont make the light come out anything like a filament bulb... but if you dont care about using it I think led would look sweet in there

Talking light bulbs for instrument cluster!

anyway after searching and reviving old threads and still no answer, i took it upon myself to take my cluster out and find out for myself anyway i found a direct replacement for the dash bulbs. the T1.5 Instrument LED bulb on http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR fit the cluster (i have only one in blue) but i treid it on the gas/temp gauges and it looked good with pretty even light distribution and i trie it on the lcd screen for the odometer OMG it looked good to see a nice shade of blue insted on green( it was VW like.
