I have great tires and haven't had any problems getting around. We have had snow on the ground for months here in boston and the car isn't bad at all. I even drove up to Killington VT for a ski/boarding weekend in some heavy snow and I didn't have any problems.
I would love my next car to be AWD, just because it gives you that added assurity and increased performance in bad weather, but honest for a daily driver the lancer FWD is great. My buddy has a RWD lexus IS that I drove in the snow and it was horrible.

Haha, just a lil "motion blur" in photoshop. I am really happy with my GTS so far. Car wash attendant today complimented me and said "duuude your car is f**in sweet!" ... that put a smile on my face after a crappy day at work

^^ with the stock tires, i wouldnt chance it, but once u swap those out for some solid all-seasons with bad weather performance you'll be fine
