Question Black out/smoke cluster lense??

I don't know if this is a good idea, but I've been thinking blacking out my gauge cluster lense (not too much). I have an evo cluster and the lights are always on, so it will be okay I guess. I am planning to get smoke gauges later (for turbo) and I want to match at least....

I drive STis everyday (work at Subaru) and I love how the gauge look especially when you start it up.

So what do you guys think? and if I ever do it, how should I do this? use the transparent black paint or a piece of tint film?

I'd go with some tint film. You can pick some up at Walmart for cheap and it would be uniform, paint tends to not be.

What % you think I should use and which kind....?

Btw, I still have the OZ cluster so I have an extra lense and use it if I ever mess it up

Yeah, I work at Subaru Service and I see them all the time, those Outbacks, Legacy and STi cluster are very cool, yepp the needles moves all the way to the end when you start it up. Too bad we CAN'T have those style....

It's possible, and I'm pretty sure it will be time consuming...
