So I ordered one. I'll give a full review with pics for those interested. It seems perfect for me, since I have outgrown the need for a big stereo. I'd rather just have the space in the short bus than to have sub and amp in the back. I'll just upgrade the interior speakers if necessary. Maybe add a small amp to some higher-end rears that is hidden under the seat or in one of the side bins.

Either way, this head unit seems perfect for my purposes...assuming it works with my usb drives.

USB Receiver + Portable USB hard drive = win. I've always like the sound quality of Panasonic better though. I'm looking into this one.

Which even comes with a free thumbdrive.

or this one...

Western Digital portable USB drive are getting surprisingly cheap

That's because WD is garbage. I've gone through a few of their external hard drives and they don't last for more than a year.

I actually think this may be a good one to get

http://outlet.crutchfield.com/p_613M...cc=01&tp=13566

Im just wondering though, do we need a wiring harness in order to install these radios if we have the S&S package? Is there anything special that we need or can we just install these straight?

I have the S&S as well and I had to get a wiring harness when I installed my deck. I got the JVC KD-HDR1. The harness is pretty cheap from what I remember and the install was fairly simple.

Wow that Kenwood sounds like a great unit. Question, when you hook up your iPod via USB are you still controlling the iPod from the iPod itself, or are you getting head unit control?

This just came in...

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-CQ-C...4488545&sr=8-1

POS DO NOT BUY FOR USB PLAYBACK!!!
It puts the folders in random order and assigns numbers to them. I've always loved to sound quality from Panasonic. I searched and searched trying to find a review on how their USB playback was and couldn't find anything. I figured since the cheap ones in the store work nicely, surely Panasonic can handle this. WRONG!!!

Perfect Cheap Head unit? Just find one you like on a nice website like crutchfield then search the model number on bizrate.com or bing cashback search and ta-da! it's instantly MUCH less than what it was before.

is it worth it to get new head unit, amp, and subs other than the ones that are stock. i heard it is a pain in the a$$ to replace all the stock components. something about security and i dont know what else.
