S & S Infinity amp
so i am planning on upgrading my speakers soon and was wondering since i have the sun and sound package and the person before me took out the infinity amp and sub before it was sold to me, if that actually affects the quality of my speakers now
or rather if i get an amp now, would it make my speakers sound better because maybe i lost some of the quality due to the missing amp? just wondering if anyone knew thanks

I'm assuming you have an aftermarket headunit and the previous owner didn't know how to integrate the factory amp OR had their own aftermarket amps in the vehicle before selling the car to you and rewired it.
Most likely, you're speakers are wired directly to the aftermarket radio which means they are most likely getting a full range signal and maybe 18wrms if that.
Depending on your definition of sound quality, I would recommend aftermarket high amp to give you more clarity, control and volume and if you want more mid bass or sub... then add a sub amp and subwoofer(s).
Post more info on your current setup, what deck you have, what speakers.
Hope this helps,
Nick

No problem... the X200 should have a built in high pass filter (HPF) in the audio setup that will allow you to filter out the lower frequencies which will give you more usability out of the system before getting into clipped signals or distortion. This would be a good start before amplifying at least.
You will lose your midbass the higher you go in frequency... I believe the options are: 60hz, 80hz, 100hz, 120hz... try all of these and see what works best for you for the type of music that you listen to.
Even with the filter on though, understand you are still only outputting 16wrms to each speaker which isn't much by any means... if the speakers are aftermarket and can handle 180wrms then look for an amp to run them... but consider what the amp can do as well: built-in crossover, regulated power supply, class a/b/d?... don't be afraid to put power to your front end... 80% of what you hear in your vehicle comes from the front speakers.
Many amp manufacturers are making class d full range amps now... putting 150+ watt rms to each speaker ... with the right speaker of course.
Hope this helps,
Nick

No problem... I can suggest a few... JL Audio Slash Series (300/2, 300/4), HD Series (600/4, 750/1, 800/5), TMA (360.2), Alpine PDX Series (2.150)...
hope this helps.
