DVD player problem

ok i just got a savant 7inch touch screen headunit which i really like just for some reason i can get my ipod video or dvd player to work while im driving and i have literally tried everything i can think of ... grounging the wire... toggle switch .... i saw the post lower down but i dont understand anything they are talking about so if someone could please explain a little better thank you

mine works all i did was ground the parking sensor wire...make sure you grounded the wire...the correct wire at that. maybe just take a look through all your wirring to make sure it is all where it is supposed to be

my ebrake wire is a postive its something apparently the thing the new flip outs are doing to prevent people from just grounding it to make it work i alreayd tried grounding it

so hook the wire to a positive power source.....accessory wire or cigarette lighter should do the trick

I had to hook a toggle switch up to something under the shifter where the ebrake is, I believe it was a green wire with just a on/off switch.
