dynamat

So i finally picked up a trunk kit for my car, my question is has anyone successfully made the 5 sheets that a dynamat trunk kit comes with work? What were your experiences with fitting the 5 rectangular sheets in a 04 ra?

I did it! Damn it took me a while but its done. Now all I need to do is the trunk deck which is the part that makes the most noise. Here are some pics.. what a amazing difference in sound.

You'll find that the deck is amazingly easy. I did mine today. There is a thin rubber sheet in there you can pull out and use as a template. Lay your stuff out, put the rubber piece on it, and cut with a utility knife. You don't have to cut every hole the rubber piece has, just the ones for the speakers, seatbelts, and plastic fasteners.

Then once I had the stuff applied to the top of my rear deck, I put felt washers on all the plastic fasteners that hold the fiberboard/carpet piece in, and more felt washers under all three baby seat anchors that bolt on over the top.

Once all that was back together, I put a little bit I had left over in the trunk under my Basslink to stop the rattle its mounting brackets were making.

Then it was time to annoy the neighbors. No more rear deck rattles.
