$12.99 wiring harness for RA S&S?

Alright, so I have the Infiniti sound package that the Ralliart comes with and I'm going to install a Pioneer 5900 and I read up on here that you need this special wiring harness for it to work with the Infiniti subwoofer and amp..

http://www.logjamelectronics.com/sounmitsrcvr.html

So I order it and it will get here Thursday.

Now I was messing around and found this from crutchfield.com

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...0707003&tp=736

Isn't that the same thing except with the other wiring harness I'm going to need all for $13?!

Am I missing something here?

I just spent $39 for that other one and I'm wondering if I could have gotten this instead.

Anyone know?

I pretty much posted this so that if the one from crutchfield does work, people won't buy the other one like I did because from all the posts I've read, everyone uses the other one that's $30.

That must be a new item for Crutchfield. Until you posted this, it was believed that Soundgate was the only company that made the S&S adapter.

I bought my stereo from crutchfield a little over a month ago and that was NOT available. But it's good to see they did their homework and now offer it. Sorry to hear you spent that much on the soundgate plug.

When i bought my radio from circuit city the harness they sold me was the same as the crutchfield one. He said that whether or not you have the S&S package the harness comes with everything just in case. Think it was about $12 also.

Well, I wish I knew that sooner. Even the guy at bestbuy and at a local 'professional stereo shop' said I would need that special harness which would run me $50 or so.

Hopefully now whenever someone else wants to know about the harness, they stumble upon this thread and can go the $12.99 route instead of the $29.99 + s/h (hardly any local dealers have the Soundgate plug).

Thanks for the replies!

thats a metra harness,(part number 70-7003) they've been out for a long time now, i got mine when i installed my deck back in sept of 05.

would have figured everyone knew by now about it, i could never locate the sounggate adapter in canada, even soundgate themselves wouldnt sell it to me, so metra it was. 2 years late, still working great
