stock MP3 compatiblity after 04

does the stock head read mp3 for years after 04 i have and 04 wiht s&s and it dosent i saw an evo unit on sale that claims it does ne1 know if its tru ? i am assuming the unit should fit in the s&s since the harness is universal for all lancers or is it ? i jsut wanna keep a stock headunit i dont knwo why but i dont like the look of most aftermarket units

I don't think any of them could play MP3's your best bet would be to get the sound harness adapter to hook it up to an aftermarket unit. That's the route I went with and am happy as hell with it. The swap only took about 30 minutes, and 20 of it was just wiring and checking the wires. for the adapter-to-headunit link.
