Sub suggestions
Greetings
I have an AX5000 Eclipse amp enroute and am hoping to get suggestions for a good match on a sub.
I am looking for tight base similar to 104.2 KEF speakers if anyone is aware of what I am talking about. (I found in my stereo days that the English speakers had a very tight sound to the bottom end)
The amp is rated at 300W @ 4ohm or 450W @ 2ohm. this is for the sub channel and 4 x 50w @4ohm for front and rears. (5 channel)
I will be running a 4.1 system with 4 x 6.5 coaxile MB Quarts - EKA116.
The sourse will be a Sony SACD deck MEX DV2000 for multichannel sound.
I am trying to keep the cost reasonable as well.
This is for my 04 Ralliart.
Rgds and tks

Personally, I like how kicker comps sound. They seem to have a quicker hit than anything I've heard before. I also like Polks and JL Audio.

Elemental makes a grat sounding sub that should fit your requirements for tight accurate bass. Also, Diamond Audio would be a good second choice followed by Eclipse's higher ends subs.
Cheers.

Thanks for your replies.
I decided to try the Eclipse SW4000 as I got a good price on a wiring kit at the same place.
Came across a super deal late late last night on an Eclipse SW7000 so that is on the way - damn why did I have to replace my cd player. - Speakers front and rear, SACD player, AMP, two subs and a wiring kit oh yes it does play cd's.

I"m thinking of getting 1 JLAudio w6. I don't want my bass to be too over powering. I hate it when I can't hear the rest of my music because the bass is so much more there. Bass just seems to carry more.

JLs are awsome . ive heard audiobahns and they sound good too but they seem like they overpower all the music even when their turned down.
has anyone with a rear strut bar tried to put subs with a custom box behind it?

I'm sure you could build a custom box around the strut bar. Wouldn't be that hard, especially since the bar wouldnt' be high enough to hit the magnets. Boxes need ports anyways.

You should get 1 10" JL W6v2 sub for the evo. You don't want to much weight back there.
