yes my battery light an brake came on my 05 ralliart then when popping my hood i noticed the harness melted down an the red top battery was releasing fluid. im running a 1800 rms an 400rms mtx amp an 2 12" mtx 8500 700watt power inverter. i know the ra's are 110 amp alternator im sure upgrading that to 170amp alternator is a good start an upgrading to the yellow top just kindin getting some ideas on witch is the best set up for this system so this wont happen again

Not overcharging, definitely not...but was their any electrical issues that you've dealt with lately? Any electrical failures, faults, grounding issues, anything?

I think you've got more serious problems than just overdrawing power, though I think it's laughable that you even thought you could pull that much power in the first place off a stock alternator. You're going to need to upgrade a lot of wiring, you can't expect to move that kind of power without beefing up all the wiring to your alternator and all your ground points.

^So true! More important than RMS though, what's the amperage draw from each amp? I had a 4-ch 6004 MTX and it drew 80 amps itself!!! and that's the 4-ch, not the sub amp.
