Kicker L7 ...what Amp Should i Go With?
Just replacing my P2's with 2 L7's
Wanted to know what do y'all think i should go with
I will be switching from 4GA wire to 0GA so nice if the amp had a housing for that
now will i need another battery?
A better alternator?
But for now, something to push my L7's

I just had 2 L7s in my eclipse and ran my 1200 watt kicker amp with 4 gauge wire and a 2 farad or 3 farad cap. I just had 4 gauge wire. It pushed my L7s great, hear them from a mile away. Now I'm going to run just 1 L7 in my lancer.

Im running a brutus amp an i was impressed.
I cant turn it all the way up or my ears will hurt.
comes with a gain modual on a cord that you can rig up front so you can easily turn your amp down when people get in the car. Ive ran this amp hardcore on 6+ hour trips and it has never cut off.
I dont think you need a new alt or battery.
Ive got 2 12s an amp,a PS2,sirius radio, power inverter, flip up monitor all running off the stock battery an i have no dimming. Just make sure you run a cap

The JL 500/1 is a great amp. I had a 400 something mempis on my L7 in my brothers car, and he had to replace the alternator a few times. I would go with a high powered one if you are going to have a semi-powerful system.

You are talking about having the L7's which will require a good amount of wattage to power. If you were using some junk walmart subs you could get by without using a high power alternator, but just to be on the safe side with the system you are talking about using I would take extra measures to make sure it doesn't mess up anything else on your car: such as the battery and alternator. You would be better off doing it up front than finding out unexpectedly that you are going to have to buy an alternator and your battery is shot.

No mater what battery you use , if you don't get a bigger alternator you will always have a problem with your batteries. the alternator is what makes the batteries go. If the alternator is not putting in enough juice to the battery it will not make a difference wether it is a gell, marine or optima battery.

L7's amp?
If you want to get there max output get a jl 1000 amp. With this it does not mater what ohms you run them at it will put out the same at any sequence. Plus the spl is awsome. I have 2 12" type r subs and run a 500/1 and they shake like heck. Of course the l7's are better but you get the idea what JL will do for your subs. 07_03_07_1707.jpg
