Brakes

First off, do you really need a big brake kit or rear discs? You might only think you do.

If you're driving and ES (or any model with 4x100 lug pattern), you can make use of kits for the Mirage (or the DIY stuff Mirage guys do).

--------------

Of late, RPW has begun to offer kits specifically for the Lancer, making the need to use Mirage parts less important. Wilwood has a kit as well.

There we go. That's the kind of helpful stuff I was looking for. I'd be damn embarrassed if this thread stayed with my one post!

since most of the parts in that link start life as 4x114.3 it seems like a good fit for OZs- if you're willing to put in a lot of work on parts that won't add much to performance.

Would it matter if you were using a rotor such as the Brembo slotted and pads such as the Axxis Ultimate instead of stock Mitsubishi parts? Also, after reading some of this and you raising the point that they might be a good fit for the OZ, I wonder if that kind of setup would clear the factory wheels.

if your factory wheels are 15" and above it will fit.
If you get the 92 galant vr4 rotors, they are 4x114 so they should fit on OZ without modification to that.
A good place to find 2g Eclipse GSX calipers is car-parts.com

if you got an OZ/LS, get the rear RA discs redrilled to 4x114 since they start off as 5x114. then swap over the rest of the hardware.

just don't install it. it'll just be a gear that bolts to the rear hub while the sensor is somewhere in the drum. or you can keep it on. it doesn't matter since you won't have a sensor, unless you're an LS.

you would have to use the eclipse caliper mount. For the brake lines, a mirage can reuse theirs not sure about you guys. Also the mirage can use 2g eclipse gsx brake lines. Just a thought for you guys if you want to upgrade to those braided stainless steal lines.
