Mirage / Lancer Compatibility?

Ninja mod edit - this thread was originally in Lancer Transmission. Since then, it's become a really helpful discussion. Moved to Lancer General. -Blacksheepdj

I know that the clutch from the 1.8 liter mirage is interchangable with the 2.0 lancer clutch, but I was wondering if anybody knows if the flywheels and limited slip differentials are also interchangeable, at the least i would think the flywheel is too, but i'm looking for someone that has a solid answer before i start spending money.

Hotshot do you know if the alignment tool is the same also?
Also, what are you planning on getting and where? I just want to keep my options open also.

i think the alignment tool is the same, i was told that a 1997 1.8 liter mirage clutch WILL fit on our cars. i would ASSUME the flywheel will as well, but i'm not 100% sure. I would also really like to know if the limited slip differential from the mirage can be used in our transmission, i would think they probably could, i'm pretty sure the only major difference between the cars is our is basically a .2 overbore.

I'll look into the limited slip differential along with the flywheel.

Does anyone know the specs of our flywheel? If so we can compare the two and see if they are identical. The mirage 1.8L are 7 bolt pattern 215 mm.

Did some more digging and this is what I got.
http://www.coximports.com/FID-161111
However, no one has verified anything yet. I am waiting for a response from the mirage boards. This looks promising though.
Hotshot, what places are you looking at to get your clutch and flywheel. Hopefully, you have some places that are good buys because I am going to quite searching right now.

well from that link i would consider it safe to say that the flywheels would fit as well. i'm basically looking around for clutches that will handle around 250 ft lbs of torque, the thing is there are so many more mirage applications, they are much cheaper. from what i've seen, flywheels are still pretty expensive. i was looking for an lsd also, and phantom grip has one but it says its for the mirage.

This is what I pulled from the mirage guys.
110 teeth on the ring gear, approximately 11 1/16" diameter. (ring gear, from tooth point to point.)

the aluminum flywheel outside dia. is 10 3/8"

the center hole that locates on the crank is somewhere around 1 3/4"

By the way those measurements are for the flywheel.
The 215 mm was for the clutch

just out of curiosity are the gear ratios different? Because the 1.5 to 1.8 are the same tranny with the exception of different gear ratios.
