Need Help with K&N Filter
I purchased and installed my K&N drop-in filter for my 09 GTS. I was just wondering if the drop-in is supposed to make the engine louder or have a slight growl under medium to hard acceleration. I am trying to find out if I did not line up the seal correctly, and if that could be causing the growl. I can definitely hear the air rushing into my engine, but I wasn't sure if there should be that vibrating/rumbling growl with it. Thanks.

it's pretty tough to mess up the install of a filter... but if you are worried try flipping it upside down and seeing if it fits, if it doesnt you have it installed correctly...

Lol yeah that is what I figured, I just wasn't sure what kind of results I could expect other than low hp gain. Seemed easy enough to install just am not used to the growl so was just wondering if it was normal.

shouldn't be much change at all in sound... check that everything is lined up well. there have been people reporting that the bottom of the airbox is hard to get clipped with the k&n

Awesome thanks for the tip. I will check it again tonight. The bottom should be sunk in between the two halves and not flush with them correct?

i can guarantee you this is the problem the bottom clips are hard to get in place
but once you do the car should sound normal again.

i noticed that if you take out the tunnel, you lose high-end torque, and your engine works a lot harder moving at highway speeds.
