Install A/C

I just bought a 2009 Lancer DE. It was 20F outside and the last thing on my mind was Air Conditioning. After googling every possible combination of 2009 Lancer and Air Conditioning I have come to the realization that I must be the only person on the planet to be stupid enough to buy a 2009 Lancer without A/C. My question to you all is how hard would it be to get an A/C installed? How much would it cost? What parts am I looking for? and how long would I be sitting around waiting to get it done? Thanks for the help.

It will most likely cost you more than it would to trade your car in for one with one. Another option is if you haven't had the car that long try and get them to swap it. Hope you have some luck. Cause for some stupid reason my when one of the vans we use for deliveries at the company I work for ac went out, he decided to have it removed and bypassed. I think the total cost was around 2300. The cost of the AC components are very very expensive. I bet you would spend well over 5000 on it and install..maybe more.

Parts and labor for the install would be very, very painful. Unless you shell out a lot of money, you're stuck with a 4/40 air conditioner: All 4 windows down and moving at least 40 MPH

i don't think it will expensive. I was thinking about getting climate control, then I thought that I don't REALLY need it.

contact RusselM (mitsubishiparts.net), he can get you the parts and stuff for a fair amount!

Agreed, just take it down to the dealer you bought it from and see how much it would cost to get her installed. Be sure to shop around if you can.

I just bought a DE without A/C yesterday here in Wichita, KS... Mike Steven Mitsubishi quoted me $2000 on top of invoice to install A/C. I guess this doesn't surprise me because Mike Steven, who also has owns the VW/ Infiniti dealership here, has a notoriously scabby reputation when it comes to service after the sale. If you don't mind me asking, where are you located? Getting the same thing for almost half the price might be worth a reasonable drive.
