Lancer 08 gauge pillar pod
Does anyone know where I could get a Gauge Pillar Pod for my 2008 Lancer GTS....I know I will loose the airbag that is behind that panel . So if anyone can direct me to a spot to purchase one, that would be awesome .

Nobody makes them because the airbag is there. That can be dangerous.

Can't that be disabled? I was told it could be by a Japanese import speed shop. Also, I went to the site glow shift direct, and noticed this one
http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/01-07...gepackage.aspx
I just wonder how much of a difference there is between the 07 and 08 Lancer Pillar

I guess the airbag can be disconnected but that woud throw a code.
Look at this thread for more info:
Evo X A Pillar Gauge Pod
I guess there should be no problem if the gauge pod is small and mounted low, like this:

I agree with what the one guy said, "you would probably get smacked in the face with the steering wheel bag before the pillar bag"..... Now I juat wanna know, how much of a difference is there between the 07 pillar and 08 pillar?

yeah but it's up to you if you want to take chances. I'm not sure how different 07 and 08 pillars are but since the cars are diffent generations I expect them to be different but not to different. It might not fit perfectly but it wouldn't be a big deal.

There is a thread somewhere about this, I believe serious08 made a pillar pod for 08+ lancer, last i heard he was talking with RRM about possible production...

Yes... RRM will possibly produce this.
You will not have to worry about the pillar smacking you in the face. If there is a situation where the airbag deploys, God forbid, the pillar will break away from the drivers face. Think about it, that would be a horribly unsafe design by Mitsu if the pillar came flying at the drivers face before the airbag.

Does anyone know the if the difference between an 07 and 08 Lancer pillar is that much off that an 07 pillar pod wouldn't fit???

The 07 and 08 lancers are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CARS. COMPLETELY redesigned interiors and exteriors. ALL the geometry on the cars are different. The 07 pods will in no way fit on an 08. Glowshift sent me one for the 07 when I started my sponsorship with them and the shape and angle of the upper and lower portions of the pillar cover(pod) are completely different.
And there is no reason anyone should have to cut into their dashboard to install a pillar pod. You remove your existing pillar cover and replace it with the new one. Well other than maybe a small hole for the wires to go through if u happen to get a dash mounted gauge pod, or if your dash has no openings to run the wires through.
