I just did this to mine a few days ago too, I waxed and polished it, and used this "scratch out" stuff that is suppose to get out little scratches and restore color, and it looks a little bit better. but i can also see "LANCER" on the back of my trunk. only when i am looking at it up close, and from the side, i am very picky tho!
GL!

Try goo gone. My friend took the metal "318i" off of his BMW and it had the same outline. He went through a bottle of goo gone makin it come off. He poured it onto the tip of a polisher and got it to come off.

I used something similar but it wasn't really geared towards goo removal as it was more for removing the gunk from your hands. Anyways just take an rag (semi damp) and put some of the [insert whatever product you're using] and scrub somewhat hard (not too hard but hard enough) and run your index finger over it (if it still feels sticky repeat)
anyways thats what i did when I removed the Carmax sticky from my car-not sure if it'd work for debadging.

Psh, a SEAL could run circles around a Green Beret, do his mom, eat his lunch, run a fifty-mile hike, wrestle ten alligators at once, do his mom again, destroy an aircraft carrier with an inflatable raft and a Nerf gun, win a staring contest with Chuck Norris, do his mom, and then he'd start kicking ass.

I don't think there is much to do. I took off the lancer and es badges on the trunk. The car is an '03, and I did this in '07. I think because of all that time, dirt gets in the "goo," and no matter how long you spend on getting it off, you will still see the outline. I went to a body shop and was told to just repaint if I'm that picky. Goo Gone works well though to get most of the adhesive off.

I'm sure I bought it at Wal-Mart. Try either the automotive and tool section, or where you find all the cleaning chemicals. It's fairly cheap for a big bottle, and a little bit goes a long way. Just make sure the adhesive is saturated before you start scraping it off... it works a lot better.
