ya know what, all i did was remove my dipstick, gave me more room for the wrench to reach from under the car, and the rope trick worked just fine, I dont see a need for "splicing" the nut

Drives: 2003 Evolution

In order to remove my lower left nut i did the following....

step 1 : look at the nut
step 2: put my socket on the nut
step 3: loosie lefty righty tighty!!

END.

I dont know what all the fuss is about...
