well, yesterday morning i get woke up "JOSH GET YOUR ASS UP!your dad crashed your car". of course the first thing that popped into my head was is he ok, he was. second question WTF HAPPENED? apparently he was in the parking lot at his work and as he was turning around my sister said something and he looked at her for a second and then BAM. right into a light pole, one of the ones with the big concrete base.never thought going 5 miles an hour could do so much.the car is at the shop being taken apart right now, they said it will take about a week to get parts then another week or so to put it all back together. estimate so far is just above 4k for the body work and i have a 1k deductable to pay.the engine is running really rough so after theyre done with the body work that will be taken car of. fun stuff.he was the last person i expected to crash my car, he hasnt had a accident in over 15 years.but, it happens to even the best of us. so try to take it easy on the bashing. anyways, heres some pics

Stuff like that can happen, cause ur hitting an immovable object.

If he hit another car at 5mph, it would've probably ended up being a small dent.

^ ... 3 weeks ago, at our local NYC evo meet, a guy bumped his Evo (at 10mph) into an suv which was also moving 5mph... now needs new fender, headlight and hood (also repaint bumper, and fix the front rim) ... it happens

Last year, I hydroplaned into the back of a bmw 3 stopped at a red light. I was going about maybe 10mph when I hit. After I slammed into the back of it, I went out and looked and there was a small dent in their rear bumper, my license plate holder was cracked, that was it.

well, got a call from the insurance company, they are writing it off as totaled. apparently 5mph does enough damage to exceed the value of the car. funny thing is i kept the car in great condition the whole time i had it. washed twice a week inside and out. a little overboard but i hate a dirty car. engine was always serviced wen it was supposed to be. blah blah blah. they are gonna give me 4500 for the car and leave me to pay off the rest of the car.wtf is the point of having insurance if all there gonna do is this ****.

that sucks but how much did you have left to pay bc sounds like a great chance to use as a down payment on another lancer i bet you could find a used 08 for a great deal

they are giving me 6k not 4500 like i thought, but i still owe 11k. wen i got the car i owed 4 or 5k on my old car so they just added it on. otherwise i would be about to pay the car off. so now im gonna give the bank the 6k and pay the rest off as i go. i have another car but i want my damn lancer.

LMFAO! Dude my dad ripped off my SE bumper lip on my evo by crashing it into a curb! Thought i was the only one haha. 4 days at the dealership and 300 bucks later, good as new!
