difference between trunks

ok i saw in the marketplace that a guy was selling 3 different C.F. trunks. one was VIS i think the other one was Seibon and the 3rd was generic. the generic was the cheapest (obviously) but it still looked good. the guy said none of them had CF on the inside. is that normal? and would i b fine buyin the generic or would it fade bad?

whats the best site for lancer body kits...good quality low price?

Generic. All that matters is how the outside looks. And you're probably paying for the brand.

CF is CF. Take good care of it and it won't fade more than any other brand.

before i yell search i'll tell you that only two sites have body kits for lancers

ACCOLADE (body-kit.com)
RRM (roadracemotorsports.com)

search for how people have dealt with each in the past......

I personally haven't dealt with RRM and had not a bad experience with ACCOLADE

I have a seibon Cf trunk.. Yes. cf is cf but different companys use different weaves and the weaves have a better quality. My seibon trunk has no imperfections in the weave at all.

Also. The quality of the Fiber glass. The seibon trunk fits great. Lines up on the sides and is a minimul gap where the trunk hits the bottom bumper. I think I would go with VIS or Seibon. Dont even mess with the cheap stuff.

also different companys use different clear coatings on the cf. my cousin owns a body shop and sez its a good idea to add a nother layer of clear coat and polish often. that will keep it from yellowing over time. and also to try to keep it out the sun as much as possible.
mitsuosbi is right about the weave. i've seen some pretty crappy weave on cf hoods.

if youcan see the generic one first hand and it looks o.k. then go for it. just buy some quality clear coat and polish it alot.
be careful of fit and finish. this cf stuff aint cheap.
