What are the chances of getting stronger internals for the lancer?
what do you guys think about a company hopping on the banwagon to make better internals for the lancer? i dont know if thats RRMs thing or not..but if some company actually did make some. what type of gains could you see from that? (like whp numbers) i know obviously evo internals wont do any good

yeah but wont do any good to NA guys or even turbo guys really..unless your trying to blow your engine.. im talking about internals that would benefit the NA guys to get a lot more power.

like 10.5 or 11:1 pistons? idk, but how would Evo X pistons blow a turboed Lancer motor?

compression on evo are made for way higher boost than the 5-7lbs that the lancers are running..in order to get a benefit out of those aftermarket/stock internals you would have to up the boost more

the only reason someone would want stronger internals for a turbo application is to turn up the boost anyways....

exactly thats why im trying to find out of someone will make internals for the NA with lower compression so these can get bigger gains. im not familiar with n/a 4 bangers so im not sure what type of gains you could expect if someone did..thats what im trying to figure out

Ok if you are going to get pistons for NA you either keep the same compression or go higher. Going lower would rob power from the engine.

Why would you want lower compression pistons than the evo on a n/a application. With n/a you want to go higher ratio to see gains in hp... But I would love to see some 2.4 heads, pistons, forged crank and rods, cams, larger throttle, and an aluminum intake with a broader rpm range o.o

If you staying n/a, there is a stroker kit offered up to 2.5L
Our 2.4's have a 10:5:1 compression so really unless you want to get into some serious engine work, ie. boring, oversize customs pistions and rods then your not going to really see any gains worth your while. By the time you spend that money you may as well be turbo'd
If your going turbo and want to put around 300-400hp I'd just run the 2.4 caliber srt4 pistons and rods. Pretty inexpensive upgrade as the rods, piston, and rings might run you $380 max for a set of four. crank we dont need to replace unless your planning on over 550hp
I'd probably run an aftermarket headgasket of some kind and maybe arp headstuds if I was pushing closer to 400hp or more but other then that you should be ok.

So the parts from the SRT Cal will fit? I know they kinda have the same block except for the exhaust ports. Would R/T or SRT heads and intake fit as well?

wow! hey not to bash you or anything, but where did you find your info? I have nothing to say against it, just wondering if this is all true, because I eventually want to get 300 whp
