Fluid In Throttle Body

I was taking my throttle body off today to clean it, and I took out the four bolts and unplugged the harness. Finally, I went to remove the clamp and hose that runs to the side of the throttle body and a green fluid came out. It almost looks like its antifreeze but does that make sense?

What kind of fluid would be running to the throttle body?

Thanks for any info.

Most likely coolant, unless the air by you is green...

It's coolant. It keeps the throttle body from freezing during the winter. Some people bypass it in regions that don't have harsh winters but it is debatable whether it even makes a very small difference power-wise.

I tried the bypass and there was no difference.
I'm boosted if that makes any difference.

Run a 1/4 of a can of Seafoam through your throttle body, and vacuum lines. It takes 2 people to do this task. One pouring in the Seafoam slowly, and the other hitting the accelerator to suck it through and watch the white smoke fly out of your exhaust. It essentially burns off all your carbon. You can also use it in your gas tank. It can be purchased at any Autozone or Advanced Auto for about $8 a can.

Not even that new anymore , most of them have around 30k on them . Also if he needs to pull the throttle body off to clean , seafoam would have been a better way to clean it . Also depending on the oil that is used even a car with 10k miles could have sludge in it .

If a car has sludge that quickly, there are bigger problems. If he has an 09 GTS, he likely has less than a year's world of driving on it.
