Quick questions

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, but I was needing some tech advice and I'm very new to the forum. I basically need a shopping list.

Here's what i was looking at wanting:

Headers
Throttle body
Exhaust

Other than that, I don't know. I only recently got rid of my first car, a 98 dodge Dakota (had it since age 16, i'm almost 25 now). So, i really want to build up a nice car since I've never really had one. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

Any CAI or SRI will make a more "aggressive" sound when you stomp on the gas, plus give you a few extra HP. Nothing off the charts, but everything helps. I would recommend going to this website: roadracemotorsports.com and check out their products. All specially made for your vehicle for a fair price and good customer service!

In regards to a header, If the header has a flex pipe then I highly recommend getting upgraded Motor Mounts or Tq dampeners to take the stress off the header. The Asian 421 header I tested has a flex pipe, but a dampener may be an optional piece. I believe RRM may have changed design away from using flex pipes. I saw a replacement pipe Tango (local car club guy got) and it looks like its a straight cast replacement instead of a flex pipe. Just be aware of the stresses generated by our rockin motor.

Throttle body in development, as well as cams Fall I think is when that should hit the market.

If you have a 2.4 engine a 2.50" exhaust system maybe a better trade off. If you have a 2.0L its still wiser to favor a TQ preserving muffler style exhaust system such as RRM or magnaflow system.

I agree with this statement. If not a SRI, then a simple panel drop in does the job at a fraction of the cost. I had a K&N panel filter that they make, and a company called Works out of California also makes one for your application. Good sound, minimal power results essentially!

awesome

I really appreciate all of the sites and stuff. I actually already have a K&N Typhoon SRI. Man, do I like the sound of that thing. Also helped with the initial acceleration. I'll check the sites posted and see about some of those.

Thanks again to all!
