Engine knockong ?

I know this question has been asked by a few people, but this is my 2nd engine the original one had 120k on it and was making this same noise, thought it was the lifters going bad. So i decided to get a new one so i wouldn't have this problem. We the new engine has 59k now, and its starting to make this same freaking noise! and i really don't know if this is a normal thing cause the engine has been quiet up until now. And the noise is continuous well driving it gets louder. here a video to show the noise maybe someone can answer if its normal or what it maybe cause i have put in close to 2k fixing all the little things and i want to spend it on a turbo not fixing it. Sorry for the rant but this car is a love/hate right now.

It's the lifters, if the engine was knocking that bad, it would explode.

Definitely the lifters. Its a common problem with our motors, even as low as 59K miles. Double check your oil level, just in case. Also, what weight of oil are you running? You might be able to temporarily quiet it down by running a slighty heavier oil. You can also take them all out and give them a good cleaning. That would help reduce or eliminate the ticking immensely.

What type/ weight are you running? My car old motor did same thing and it was very loud switched to Mobil 1 5w-30 and it got a lot softer in sound. But you could still hear it if the windows were down and no radio at all when you stopped. My friend told me to Seafoam the oil and that should clean them out. If you don’t want to remove them that is but I don’t personally know if that works.

I dont know the oil type i always take it to the mitsu dealer, 5-30w but not sure on the brand, tomorrow i plan to get my oil changed, the level is good i still have close to 800 more miles before i need to change it but i always due it before just in case.

And so there no way of really fixing it. It is just a common problem for are motors, so i dont have to really worry when i go turbo with this issue it won't set me back ?

It won't affect you with your turbo setup. Our lash adjusters are just really sensitive to dirt and contaminates and like to be clean.

Well we found the problem which i have no clue how it happen, but my oil level was low down to 1qt and i still have lose to 800 more miles on it. Which makes no sense due do i always check the oil once a week and i didnt notice it being low, and there were no leaks.

So I'm guessing your lifters are happy now with adequate oil pressure getting to them after topping off your oil?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH. I totally had this happen to me. My valves were hella loud so come to find out my car was two quarts low on oil after 1000 miles on an oil change. I ended up scarring my valves. If you happen to notice your car burning oil when you first start it up in the mornings thats what happened. Good luck. It just gave me the excuse to buy my mirage head. Yay!!! I ran a little bit of lucas while it was burning and it slowed the oil consumption a ton. Hope thats not the case though.

I check oil every fill up. Just make sure the oil doesn't get low.
