I recently put a new drop in filter in my lancer and I can not for the life of me, align the bottom of the filterbox. Is there any trick to this? Any help? Please

there is really no trick to it, filter should just go right in. Try putting bottom in first then sliding in the top maybe, otherwise, it should be a no brainer. good luck

I have the same problem, when I first installed my drop I kinda open it too wide and knocked the bottom part of the filter box. Try this...
-Removed the air filter so you can see just the filter box structure.
-In between the filter box when you look at bottom there's kinda a notch. Align the notch then slightly move it forward, push it down a little bit and move it backward until it locks at the bottom.
- Then slip in the air filter back.
I hope this helps.

Can't get them at walmart. I haven't seen them in stores, although I'm sure that autozone/pep boys can order one for you..

I had the same problem with my wife's Outlander, which I'm assuming is similar to the Lancer's. Just make sure you line up the bottom and when it sits in there...shove the filter in there...

Custom intake Specs.

Has anyone custom made a short ram intake for the gts? Im currently trying to but i can only find the MAF flange for an evo x. Does anyone know if the MAF sensor is the same for the gts and the evo x?

This really depends on where you go to buy it and the Quality of the steel. Chinese metals are usually cheap and brittle and I'm not sure how they stand up to excessive heat exposure. Get a section of SAE 1020(its a grade of metal) piping and take it to a muffler shop and see if they can bend it for you lol. Good luck with making a custom intake...i know a few people have tried and succeeded.
