Unhappy Evo engine?

Ok I have a Lancer GTS X 2009, i wanted an evo but insurance/price and other factors came in and i wasn't able to buy it. I now found an evo engine brand new for $6k. I was wondering if it would even be possible for me to get it installed into my GTS, u know since the evo is AWD and possibly has different engine block dimensions. Please help =/

if you're ready to spend possibly another 10+k trying to get that thing installed and properly running..upgrading your car to be able to handle that kind of power..

but dosent sound like a good deal..i know u can order a brand new evo x motor from the dealer for 5k with turbo and everything.but if you're looking at a GTS i would say look at a ralliart..dont get a brand new car and throw your warranty right out the window with a project no one has done yet..if you have that kind of money take that 6k and put it twards a ralliart, if you look hard enough u can find good prices.

Use the search function, this has been discussed plenty of times. I have been trying to get as much info on this swap as I possibly can. The 4b11t will bolt directly into the lancer but the biggest problem is the ECU... You may also have to do a full gauge cluster swap for the X's gauge cluster. There is so much technology packed into the X it is incredible what they can get a car to do (look at video clips of the X's Active Stability Control)... But as that technology increases the ability to perform power swaps become extremely complicated. I would love to plant the X's powerhouse into my GTS but it is looking like it will cost more than just waiting a couple years to lower my insurance and picking up an X. I actually just think I'm just going to get a MS3 instead. 5k for the engine from the dealership and I am not sure if that includes the GSR tranny. You'll need to have a shop modify the ECU and Transmission...

It will cost you a great deal and if you blow it up sometime down the road you won't have a warranty to cover it... That and your insurance will definitely raise if you power swap, and if you don't report your major car performance modifications and get into a wreck than your insurance can reject the claim and refuse to replace the vehicle...

If I was you I'd upgrade the car slightly and trade it in when your rates go down.

But if you are really interested in getting this swap done I would advise you to contact Road Race Motorsports. They will be your best bet with this swap and any info pertaining to it.

I would say go for it if you have the funds. Expect to pay about $10k-$12k or even more when its all done. And like Mayhem said, contact an experienced shop like RRM or Works. Or since your in Miami, maybe XtremeBoost wouldn't mind helping you out.
