What Are Your Lancer Plans Now?
many of us have changed our minds from when we first got our lancers from what we want to do with it. some of us simply wanted bolt ons to get decent power some wanted turbo right away and some just wanted more torque but with the RA coming up and not too many aftermarket parts i see a lot of people have changed they're minds.. so as of right now what "realistic" plans do you have for your lancer?

with me i dont see too many aftermarket parts..and i trust that xtreemeboosts turbo kit will benifit me more than RRMs and is cheaper so when they are done with that i plan to get that...but in the meantime im going to work on my body. evo x conversion in a couple of months..new wheels HIDs Recaro seats and then early next year when hopefully more mods are available start on performance upgrading cams and such..headers, better intake, reflash maybe and hopefully by march next year Xtreemeboosts turbo CVT kit will be out..my goal is to get 330hp at the crank out of my CVT lancer..i just hope it can handle it

I still plan on waiting it out on the aftermarket scene...as of right now the lancer is being paid off rather quickly...I am only 20 years old...so not in a rush to switch it up right now....I am just waiting on someone to basically venture into 4b11 alittle more before I calls it quits....
also looking at that turbo...till then working on blacking out my whole car...with only the rims left to be done..
numbers wise i would be happy with anything in the 230-260 range...
just wished that n/a mods helped more...havent heard to much from WORKS concerning their reflash since it was completed...

Im actually still sticking with my warranty for now. Since I will only start modding next year, im saving up my cash for a turbo and other parts. But I believe the lancer can be turned into a beast and my goal is to make it equal if not better than the ralliart. This doesnt mean only power, but handling too. So I say dont get rid of it just yet. Sure the evo and the RA seem to be better bases to start on, but do u really wanna follow everyone and end up with the same thing or would u rather take a different approach and end up with a car that will stun and amaze and in the end be better? U tell me

Joking man. I found out turbo is the way to go. But im gonna try build up the motor so it can handle quite high boost. As for the handling, LSD is crucial if u want power. Also gonna see if Tein will release coil overs for the lancer. Etc. That should give u a small idea

I was planning on getting bolt on mods when I first got my lancer. But I went ahead and got custom exhaust and SRI intake.
The exhaust was cut from the last resonator up to the big ass muffler. The resonator was replaced by one small muffler with a backflow, and the big muffler was replaced by two turbo mufflers which I thought was 2 cherry bombs?

My plans to turbo my GTS. Don't know if from Xtremboost or RRM, but I'll get one. Exterior will have to wait until the end. I'm being careful not to make my car look to much of a racer just yet. It seems like every one wants to race me (lol) so I'm getting enough attention now with stock look. So far I got the crank pulley, headers, piggy back ecu, intake, exhaust, from RRM. Sorry I can't give a review of each product since I had them install all at once. But you do save LOTS of gas - not like it matters since I'll never make up the money I spent(lol), plus it's hard keepinp my foot off the gas pedal(lol). AND YOU DO GET FAST!!! I also like how the engine roars. I'm not trying to race anybody so I'm not thinking of an upgrade to a bigger car. I love my lancer cuz it's a FUN car to drive daily. I'll install a turbo for my personal enjoyment needs "IF" everything goes well for the 09s. So, i'll stick with my Lancer.

For now I'm sticking with the Lancer. I'm going to wait a while and see how turbo cvt works out.
Currently However, the performance of a PZEV CVT really pisses me off considering it barley breaks 17 in the 1/4 mile. Every review I've read said the car runs at least a 16.9. And the manuals should get into 15's with just a few bolt-ons. Its primarily the fact that the car is PZEV that hurts the performance so much, not so much the CVT. I originally wanted a CVT because of;
1- Easy driveability, I often drive when I'm tired or just waking up, and its nice to have an auto for that. And I'm just lazy.
2- I know how to drive manual, but I'm not the best at it, since my first 2 cars were automatics as well, I didn't feel like it was necessary to master driving stick.
3- The car usually holds more value with an auto.
And I had no idea the car was PZEV until after I bought it and started visiting these forums.
So I'm actually looking around for an 08-09 Gts with a 5spd without the Cali Emissions, If I can find one around the same price I payed for mine. And of course if I can sell mine without loosing too much money, I'd jump on it.
As for the RA, I'm still roughly 1 1/2 - 2 years away from finishing college, and probably wont be able to afford it. So once I graduate, and I start a career I can probably afford one however, at that point, I'll Probably just get a used Evo X.

I'm just thinking bolt-ons. I'm not really too too serious about tuning this car. I'd like to be able to pop the hood, show it off and chat it up with other tuners. But truthfully, I'll probably never make it out to a track, and I've sorta grown out of street racing, hehe. Car is paid off, and I'll probably keep it for a good while.
Have the Tsudo exhaust and K&N drop in so far. I should be installing them tomorrow, if the weather is nice.
I might switch to the Greddy axle-back, depending on how I like the Tsudo. I will be selling off the K&N....
Will definitely be getting the RRM V2 intake and strut tower bar. The RRM lip and bumper cap look good too. I plan on lowering it with Works springs, and throw on a set of yet to be decided 18" rims.
Truthfully, I'd be happy stopping there.
If I feel like spending the money, I'd look into the RRM pulley, header and maybe a carbon fiber hood.

Same with chino ali and with AMS producing EVO X parts already, they surely will fit the RA since its just a de-tuned turbo from the X.
